She was an senior law women and traditional custodian for the Minyma Kutjara story from Irrunytju. She was a founding member of Irrunytju Arts and received high acclaim for her works. She is represented in many public institutions and private collections. Itjulunya Kuntjil's mothers place of birth is close to Kunumata 50kms south of Nyapari and Kanpi Communities. Since its incorporation in 2006, Tjungu Palya has grown to be a dynamic and innovative community art centre.
