This painting tells a story about Pwonga the spider woman who gave us the designs of the web lines. When Tiwi look for water they look for the spider webs which tell us there is water near.

Donna Burack (1972) completed school in 1989. She participated in 2 printmaking workshops in Canberra at this time. In 1992 she travelled to Paris to represent Munupi at the opening of the Alliance Francaise Exhibition at the Australian Embassy. She has been a prolific member of Munupi Arts Centre, influencing many other artists from a young age. She is proud of her culture and her community, sitting on the local Council Committee and the Munupi Arts and Crafts Committee.
Munupi Art is wholly indigenous owned and governed. Generated income supports the artist's families and therefore the whole Tiwi community.
