Laundry Gallery is a multidisciplinary creative hub located in Darwin, Australia. Housed in a reimagined iconic 70’s era laundromat, it represents modern iterations of Indigenous art and culture. An accessible pathway for age-old stories to co-exist with the modern world.
Enter the playful world of Doris Bush in our current exhibition. Pilparrpa (fat goanna) is a burst of colourful ink as Doris shows her latest works on paper, each work holding fragments of this storyteller and playful depictions of her life.
The women of Papunya Tjupi show us that the Western Desert is teeming with life. As they come together in the Art Centre to paint their tjukurrpa and song lines, evidence of this feast of life is seen in every painting.
