10 AUG // EXHIBITION OPENING - DULCIE SHARPE

We’re stepping things up to new levels of feel-good colour at Laundry Gallery for our August show. Join us for the opening of:
TJULPU TJUTA; TJILKAMATA TJUTA! (Birds: Echidnas!)
- vibrant works on paper by the inimitable Dulcie Sharpe.
Dulcie Sharpe is an award-winning artist and respected elder from Yarrenyty Arltere Town Camp, Mparntwe. Featuring ‘pretty birds and spikey echidnas on Country’, the quirky figures in Dulcie's paintings speak directly to her sculpture works, demonstrating a beautiful conversation between mediums. Framed in contemporary coloured timber, Dulcie’s works are coming in hot and ready to spin at our lovely little art-laundromat!
“I used to go all the time to Kwale Kwale to see my sister. I used to see all the pretty birds and spikey echidnas when I was there. When I was little girl we did lot of walking round collecting all the bush foods with my sister and my Grandmother and all my family. We were really happy back then. But now my sister passed away I feel sad to go there.” ~ Dulcie Sharpe
